Kashmiri Hindus are not the only community that has been displaced from their homes in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Apart from the KPs there are several other categories of refugees/displaced persons whose basic human rights have been violated over the years. In a country where there are organizations fighting for rights of terrorists and separatists, these citizens are yet to catch the attention of the government and national media. JKSC works for and with these people. These categories are as under:
A. POJK Refugees : Migrated in view of Pakistani aggression in 1947 & yet to be settled permanently.
B. West Pak Refugees : Migrated to J&K at the time of partition, yet to be recognized as state subjects & get voting right in J&K Assembly/Panchayats.
C. Families displaced in wake of various wars with Pakistan.
D. Terrorism affected people in Jammu Kashmir- In the other parts of the country a general impression is that terrorism remained confined to the Valley and Jammu region was safe. In fact a large number of people living in Jammu and Kashmir are also affected by terrorism. JKSC works for these families too so that they might also get their dues.
